Swine Flu- Fact or Hysteria

In it he explains

Why a true bird- or swine flu pandemic is highly unlikely

How to protect yourself without dangerous drugs and vaccinations

Why Tamiflu and other vaccinations aren’t effective against the flu

Dr Mercola’s article also has great examples of propaganda from the 1976 Swine Flu vaccine campaign.

Sometimes it is difficult to separate the fear mongering and hype going on in the media from the truth. Worst case scenarios like mandatory vaccinations and martial law can only succeed if people actually believe the media and the government hysteria.

Here are some guidelines for judging whether an article is propaganda:

Watch for inflammatory words: What is involved here is a more subtle form of Name-Calling. Words or phrases are selected because they possess a negative emotional charge, they caste the situation in the worst possible light. They are provocative words designed to create fear.Headlines with words likedangerous”  “suspect” ‘”threat” “mystery”  “worried”  “fear”  “explode”,  Another example is using epidemic and pandemic prematurely instead of outbreak.

epidemic: 1. Spreading rapidly and extensively by infection and affecting many individuals in an area or a population at the same time. 2. Widely prevalent:

pandemic: Epidemic over a wide geographic area and affecting a large           proportion of the population.

Glittering Generalities: These would probably be used in cases where the media wanted to convince people to get vaccinated. Words like patriotic, good for the country, and good for the community might be used in connection with vaccination campaigns.

Watch for statistical manipulations: The media often suffers from ‘statistical hallucinations’ and flu deaths are often exaggerated; this is an example of Card Stacking. The media and even ‘natural healing experts’ often report annual flu deaths of about 36,000. This number comes from the CDC. The CDC counts pneumonia deaths and influenza deaths together as one number. For 2001 these combined deaths came to 62,034. As we can see 36,000 influenza deaths is roughly half the total number. However, further investigation into statistics on the CDC website reveal the actual number of deaths actually caused by influenza alone came to 257 in 2001, with pneumonia accounting for the remaining number of deaths. Again, for 2002 the CDC reports the same 36,000 deaths but if you go to the more comprehensive overall death report you will find that only 753 people died of flu in 2002. These are just two examples of how the CDC reporting methods lead to media exaggeration of death rates for the flu. More information http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2004/10/30/flu-deaths.aspx   http://www.gordonresearch.com/articles_big_pharma/flu_crimes_at_the_cdc.pdf

Watch out for a lack of perspective and relativity: The media often fails to put the number of deaths in perspective. For instance, Lorraine Day, M.D. had this interesting take on statistical perspective in the bird flu . She stated the following:

According to the Internet World Stats (Usage and Population Statistics), the population of Asia is 3,622,994,130.  That’s 56.4% of the World’s population. If we divide 65 (supposed deaths from “bird flu”) into 3,622,994,130 people in Asia, the answer is approximately 54 million.  That means that in Asia there has been ONE death for every 54 MILLION people! - - - HARDLY the statistics necessary to predict a frightening “Pandemic!”  OR to call out the military forces!

The media also fails to present flu deaths relative to deaths from other causes that don’t warrant quarantine, panic and martial law, like death from car crashes, malaria, and tuberculosis.

Watch for speculative language: Rhetoric that creates a worst case scenario. If the headline or article contains the word “could”, this is pure speculation.  SARS/Bird Flu/Swine Flu “could” do anything that the author of the article can conjure up in his imagination. “Could” allows the author to manufacture any outcome he chooses. For instance in an article for The Scotsman, Dr Nancy Cox of the US Centers for Disease Control. said that “a global epidemic of bird flu could dwarf history’s worst infection disaster(the1918 Spanish Flu), which killed between 20 and 40 million people”. Interestingly enough the speculation introduced by “could” is hardly ever positive. Even natural healing sites use speculative and alarmist language.

Watch for a question mark at the end of the headline: Lorraine Day, M.D. pointed this one out. These types of speculative statements are designed to be deposited into the reader’s mind as fact – when they are only a question. This allows the author to use his imagination in developing a scenario to cause fear and panic. It can also be used to lead the reader down specific path of thinking. Anytime a headline ends with a question mark, it is pure speculation. Journalist Dan Greenberg states that these “Thumb-sucking ruminations” rarely contain any useful information and it’s best to just skip them. This technique actually has it’s own law. Davis's Law states that “if a headline ends in a question mark, the answer is "no", or at least 'no one has a clue'”.

Watch out for the comparison of two unlike things – apples and oranges. For instance, SARS/Bird Flu/Swine Flu is often compared to the Spanish flu of 1918. In his article, Dr. Mercola a explains why the 1918 flu could never happen again. The same information can also be found on the CDC's website.

Follow the Money:  Whether or not a real pandemic manifests Pharmaceutical companies still profit. The U.S. government placed an order for 20 million doses of Tamiflu during the non-materialized bird flu scare at a price of $100 per dose. That comes to an astounding 2 billion dollars. Talk about a stimulus package. In addition, pharmaceutical companies are immune from lawsuits in the event that their vaccinations prove to be harmful to people. Failure to Mention Natural Remedies: Of course, the media fails to mention any of the highly effective natural remedies that are available, touting vaccines and drugs as the only recourse for the SARS/Bird Flu/Swine Flu. I have included some remedies from different sources below. Thanks to all the HeartFriends who sent emails with natural remedies. If you have other natural remedies you would like to share please send them to shearradiance33@gmail.com.

REMEDIES

Homeopathic: Gelsemium and Bryonia were used to successfully treat the Spanish flu in 1918. Some Homeopathic hospitals had 100% recovery rates.  More details here http://www.naturalnews.com/026148.html

Fatty Acid (fish oil): Dr. Emanuel Revici discovered that ALL forms of viruses are neutralized by fatty acids. The recommended dose is 2,000 mg or more EACH day depending on how susceptible you have been previously to colds and flues. For the best absorption, take it with meals. The article mentions that each oil is different. The fish oils are the best forms of the omega-3 that are needed. Flax or hemp oil would be poor substitutes, even though they are also omega-3 oils. Avoid Certain Foods to prevent Cytokine storms. Health freedom USA has compiled a list of foods to avoid because they increase cytokine production in the body. The H5 N1 virus is immune to two cytokines. “The problem is that when a foreign body is immune to certain cytokines, the body sees that its immune response is not working and tries even harder, which can lead to what is called a cytokine storm, where the body becomes flooded with these compounds and they eventually destroy the body itself. Foods such as Echinacea actually stimulate the production of these specific cytokines; hence consuming it is not a good idea
if one suspects they may have the virus”. More details here http://www.healthfreedomusa.org/?p=2581

Things to AVOID with H5N1

Elderberry juice

Micro Algae (Chlorella and Spirulina)

Honey

Chocolate

Echinacea

Kimchi

Dairy products & Bananas - increase mucous production.

I have included Dr Schultz’s Swine Flu Alert here because I currently can’t find a link to it on the web. And it’s humorous – we need to lighten up.

What We Know:

There has been an outbreak of influenza. It seems to have started in Mexico and has spread to Texas, California, New York and other states. It has also spread to Canada and other parts of the world.

At this time there is no real need to panic, unless you want to sell newspapers or drugs, but it is important to be cautious. We should all intensify our health safety protocols as if it was October and influenza season was just starting, not May and influenza season ending.

I will outline my Health Safety Protocols at the end of this report, but first, let me give you a little information.

What is the Swine Flu?

Influenza virus infects both humans and animals. The two main animal viruses are the Bird Flu, which affects birds, and the Swine Flu (officially called SIV, or Swine Influenza Virus) that is a respiratory viral disease of pigs.

Occasionally humans get both of these viruses, but usually only a very few people get infected and usually these people have had direct contact with the sick animals. It is not normal, and very difficult, for these animal viruses to spread from human-to-human.

When they do, as it is suspected now, it can be dangerous. In the past when this happens, and an animal virus starts spreading from human-to-human (and does this easily), it usually also dies out quickly. But, on rare occasions, it can cause a pandemic, which is a widespread, worldwide epidemic, making millions sick and killing millions more. Notably, this happened in the 1890's with the Russian Flu, the most famous being the Spanish Flu of 1918 that killed about 100 million people on the planet (killing more people than the Black Death of Europe in the 1300's), and the Hong Kong Flu of 1957 that almost killed me.

This current Swine Influenza outbreak may actually not even be a Swine Flu virus at all. It is suspected that it may be caused by a new strain of Influenza type A, subtype H1N1, and also a blend of an avian (Bird Flu) and possibly a few strains of Swine Influenza Virus all mixed together in a dangerous and potentially lethal new viral cocktail. But, identifying viruses, especially rapidly, is not an exact science.

Should You Worry?
Not really, but you should always be prepared.

The Dr. Schulze "Swine Flu Scale":
I say on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being "who cares" and 10 being "it is time to get your food, guns and herbs in the basement and staple-gun 10-mil plastic over your house", we are currently at a Dr. Schulze Stage 3.

Medical doctors, scientists and even I all agree that we are overdue for a worldwide influenza pandemic of huge proportions. That said, in spite of the news hysteria, the reality is that very little is actually known so far, and very few people are getting sick, fewer hospitalized, and very few deaths, but it is certainly worth watching and being cautious.

It could turn into a worldwide pandemic killing millions and millions, but it probably won't.

I say this simply because I lived through the big Swine Flu Scare of 1976, when the American government's panic was so overblown, they said that we were going to have a killer Swine Flu epidemic / pandemic. They almost forced inoculations, Congress actually voted it in, and people lined up and rushed to get their Swine Flu Shot. Television and newspapers made millions, pharmaceutical companies made billions, and then... nothing happened. Well, actually something did happen.

There were very few cases of actual Swine Flu, but 25 times more people died from the inoculation than from the Swine Flu itself. So, I have seen flu panic, and medical flu treatment, kill.

Also, to put this in perspective, hundreds of Americans die every year from taking aspirin, and to date, 100 more people have died so far this year from bee stings in America than the Swine Flu, and 1 million will die from taking doctor prescribed prescription drugs, so we need to take a step back, take a deep breath, put this outbreak into perspective and observe. And we don't need the government, the CDC, the WHO, the news media and the office of Homeland Security turning this into a political pandemic.

To date only two actual people in Mexico have been confirmed to have died of this flu, and the rest are deaths from other unknown causes. There have been no deaths so far outside of Mexico or Mexican travelers.

I REPEAT, usually animal virus like Bird Flu and Swine Flu do not pass to humans, and when they do they usually only infect a few people who have had direct contact with the animals.

The concern is when many people start to get infected with the animal virus, and especially when people start getting that flu who didn't come in direct contact with the animals. Then it is being spread from human-to-human. This means that the virus has shifted, drifted or mutated and has now figured out how to spread from human-to-human, instead from animal-to-human. When this happens, the virus could spread quickly and infect large numbers of the population.

Currently with this virus, how easy it is spreading from human-to-human is not known. The medical community is worried that this may be one of those viruses that has mutated and is now easily spreading from human-to-human, but this is still unknown.

How Bad Is It?

Well, it depends who you listen to. Turn on the news and it almost looks like the end is near. The government isn't helping either, with the Office of Homeland Security getting involved and the National Guard being called in to put armed guards around the Tamiflu supply. Well, actually all of this action is helping the hospitals and the pharmaceutical companies.

Two days ago, on April 29th, the CDC (Center for Disease Control) announced that the WHO (World Health Organization) raised the alert level again to a Phase 5. A Phase 5 alert is a very serious alert. It means that there is a"strong signal that a pandemic is imminent and that the time to finalize the organization, communication, and implementation of the planned mitigation measures is short." This is way premature!

At the same time you should understand that there have only been a few hundred cases so far, only a few people have been hospitalized, and there has only been ONE death in the United States. It is still a very, very small outbreak.

One great advantage we have right now it that it is Spring heading into Summer. This is a harder time for viruses to spread because we are getting more fresh air and not confined in large groups inside where it is easier for the virus to spread. This is a real blessing. But again, at the same time, the rate at which it has spread so quickly is of concern.

What I know is that every single winter, between October and April, influenza attacks Americans, killing 40,000 people a year (more than the deaths from breast cancer or prostate cancer) and puts hundreds of thousands in the hospital. I wish I could get this much press and attention every fall to wake people up to an annual epidemic that actually happens, kills and repeats itself every single year!

What Should You Do to Protect Yourself?

Dr. Schulze's "Swine Flu" Health Safety Protocols

#1: Wash Your Hands
First and foremost you should wash your hands more, 10 times a day. The bottom line is that you are most likely to come into contact with a virus (any virus) by touching something that an infected person has just touched. And, if you wash your hands, you will then KILL that virus BEFORE it infects you!

#2: Keep your Fingers OUT of your Eyes, Nose and Mouth
If you do get viral infection on your fingers, and you then touch your eyes, nose or mouth, you will pass this virus directly into you. So stop touching yourself there.

#3:Stay Healthy
Even according to the Center for Disease Control's website on Swine Flu, they suggest that you stay in good general health, get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food. YES! I couldn't have said it better myself, sounds like they have been visiting the Dr. Schulze website and following my guidelines to Create Powerful Health.

#4: Don't Travel to Mexico
Why be silly and go into an infected area? At the same time I would avoid crowds, especially coughing and sneezing people.

#5: Just say NO to negativity.
Nothing suppresses your immune system like bad news and bad attitudes. This is a time to stay positive, focus on the good, and support your immune system to keep you healthy.
